What it isOne desk, one tool
A one-town outlet has the same output problem as a large newsroom and none of the staff. The same story has to become a Facebook post, an Instagram post or carousel and a Threads post — each in the right format, on the same day, with a consistent visual identity.
Lofi Gangs is the answer to that. It is an internal editorial tool, used by the authorised members of the Lofi Gangs desk, and it publishes only to accounts the outlet owns. It is not offered to the public and no outside account can be connected to it.
How it worksFrom a local story to a published post
A story is picked up
Municipal decisions, road works, transport disruptions, local sport, culture, street life. Each subject is checked against the outlet's own editorial line before anything is produced.
The post is composed
A caption in the outlet's voice, and a visual built from its templates: typography, colour register, and the outlet's signature. One story, one consistent set of assets.
A person reviews it
The editor sees the finished post before anyone else does, and chooses the caption, the format, and whether it goes out at all. Nothing is published without that step.
It goes out, or it waits
Either published to the outlet's connected accounts, or held in the tool until the desk is ready.
Results come back
Aggregate views and interactions per post and per format, so the desk can tell what its readers actually respond to rather than guessing.
FacebookWhat Lofi Gangs does with Meta
Lofi Gangs uses the Facebook Login and Graph API to publish to the outlet's own accounts. Once the Page is connected, the tool can:
- Publish to the Facebook Page — a photo, video or text post with the caption approved at
review time. Uses
pages_manage_posts. - Show which Page is connected — so the editor can see which account they are about to
publish to, and never publish to the wrong one. Uses
pages_show_list. - Read aggregate performance — view and interaction counts on posts it published. Uses
pages_read_engagement. - Publish to the linked Instagram account — the professional account attached to the Page.
Uses
instagram_basicandinstagram_content_publish.
Lofi Gangs does not browse, follow, comment, message, or read anyone else's content. It reads no follower lists and no private messages. It publishes only to accounts the outlet owns, and only content the outlet produced.
Editorial rulesWhat we will not publish
Lofi Gangs is an editorial tool, not a broadcast tool. Content that is unverified, that identifies private individuals without cause, or that would breach a platform's community guidelines does not get produced. Corrections are published as posts of their own rather than by quietly editing a live one.
